Mesa Potamos Waterfall – translated as Inside River- is a gorgeous and situated right next to a picnic area managed by the Forestry Department. All necessities are provided like drinking water, tables, barbeque area and toilets. The picnic area is huge and can accommodate up to 700 visitors. But don’t panic, the picnic tables are scattered around the area offering you some sort of privacy.
The area is beautiful and mesa potamos river also called Arkolachanias is passing through the picnic side, with cute little wooden bridges above it. The park is buried within pine forest and golden oaks, and provides you with a captivating green scenery. Children love it because the can run around below and above the bridges, and play in the shallow river.
The Mesa Potamos waterfall is below the road – you will see steps leading you to it from the road. It’s a 7 meter high fall, but spectacular due to its unparallel beauty of gabbro rocks. It is a very easy- walk for children of all ages – if infants, you can carry them along. It is nice to walk along the river to view the scenery. The pool created at the waterfall is very swallow put pleasing to tip your toes and get connected with earth.
How to get there: You can reach Mesa Potamos Waterfalls in 2 ways. One from the main road, you can park and walk for 5 minutes or through the picnic area which is worth a while
