Kritou Terra waterfalls are one of the, if not the most amazing waterfall of Cyprus! Set in an incredibly lush green environment, the water flows throughout the year.

When you reach the area you will first see a small waterfall with a green – covered upper pool, where you can have a dip.

But that’s just the beginning, following a recently man made accessible trail which is a majestic path through wild vegetation of plane trees, trimithia, shrubs, oak trees and wild flowers – creates a very adventurous path for children. As soon as you reach the 2nd cave like waterfall, you will need to pass through a dark, narrow cave that leads you to a majestic view of the waterfall. The water hits on the rocks creating a green carpet of a beauty coming out of a fairytale with fairies flying around. Get ready to get totally wet!

Don’t forget to take your swimming suit, extra changing clothes and good walking shoes, you will be clambering over slippery rocks.

It’s an easy access for children (better if they take their shoes off when they attempt to pass the cave to avoid slippering). The water is a bit cold for small children – even in over heated Cyprus months so have towels ready to dry them quickly.

How to get there:

Get to Paphos and from Konia round-about follow the road to Kritou Terra passing through the villages of Mesogi, Tsada, Stroumpi, Giolou – be carefull the left turn for Kritou Terra comes up last minute. You can park your car at the picnic area (not a lot of space – better leave it further up). After that there are small brown signs helping you to get to the waterfalls. The first pool you can easily see on your right, but to get to the main waterfall you need to go left and follow the path and stairs. It is approximately 10 minute walk (2 kilometers) downwards.
